Am I the only one against pirating?
It seems like everyone, especially my fellow teenagers, find pirating to be totally ethical; however, if you put Adobe's products in a store window not many of them would think it'd be ethical to smash the glass and run off with it. Yeah, Adobe's prices are pretty insane but most of that is probably attributed to the fact that so many copies are stolen.
Even with music and movies it doesn't seem right to me. The RIAA is a bunch of jerks, yeah, but I'm not going to rob the artists of the payoff for their hard work. The bummer is that buying all of these pieces of software, music, and movies is rough due to the outrageous prices...still, it just doesn't seem right to me to take it all for free.
I am not trying to be Mr. Goodygoody (whatever that means), but I just bought a bunch of Adobe products tonight and it's frustrating that I put out thousands of dollars for the same stuff that my friends just stole from a simple download.
How many of you guys are against pirating? To what extent do you find it acceptable?
