Default Adobe Activation

So I've heard that you can't buy a CS3 product for windows and use the same activation number for Mac's.

does anyone know if this is true or not?

Default Adobe Activation

Many people feel that once you pay for a software program, you should be able to install it on any computer you own. But with multiple computers (desktops at work and home, laptop for the road) becoming more common, honest software users are bumping into licenses and activation restrictions that don't share those same feelings.

Activation helps protect Adobe against unauthorized use and copying of its software. It is a mandatory process that associates the products you buy from Adobe with the computers on which you use those products. Activation authorizes you to use your product on two computers — or more if you buy additional licenses. Adobe Systems does not gather, transmit, or use personal information about you during activation other than the IP address of your computer.
