Question IE7: Developer plugins? What do you use?

IE7 is giving me a migraine.

Anyway, what IE7 plugins do you use to speed up and or help your web development work?

I would love to get my hands on a, or a few, plugins that:
  • Easily disable/enable javascript -- I hate navigating through "Internet Options"!
  • Edit CSS on-the-fly... Did I hear someone say Web Developer Toolbar?
  • Did I hear someone say Web Developer Toolbar?
Did I mention that IE7 is giving me a headache?

Thanks!

I've never had any trouble developing for IE7 and haven't had any use for a toolbar yet. There is one available though, albeit not as good as the Firefox one. It is available from microsoft.com.

I haven't tried this, but would it be an option to stick with Firefox so you can use it's array of toolbars, but add the IETab extension to see the IE renders of your pages?

I agree. Firefox is definitely my (and most others) preferred development platform. I usually don't use the IETab extension though as I occasionally forget it's on and that makes things REALLY difficult!

You may be interested in my blog post on The ultimate PHP web development environment - IE7 is great, and the Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar has a lot of the Firefox Web Developer toolbar's functionality, but there really is no substitute for Firefox (bar maybe Seamonkey).

Firefox's main developer functionality won't work on pages within IETab as the functionality to access the page programatically doesn't exist for IETab pages.

I never saw much use in a developers toolbar for IE, but recently I've stumbled across a few bugs which had me totally stumped. An option to highlight block elements would have saved me a lot of time.

I agree with your comment in your article about checking in Safari, if it doesn't render in it, then it probably won't in future versions of Firefox, IE etc. either.

Opera isn't too shabby either, and it runs much smoother than Safari when run in Windows.
