Post Google Moving?

Where is Google moving? I have seen google grow so fast since gmail took off. Then it was Gtalk and Google docs (formerly Writely) and now selling domain names...so what is next? Just like to have opinions on direction or what everyone thinks about the companys direction.

Social networking is a possibility.

And maybe a new form of web searching, perhaps something like StumbleUpon.

I think they'll continue to develop and improve search - this is still their biggest and most important area, and if they don't then there's no reason they couldn't be overtaken. If I was Google, I would also be putting huge effort into improving contextual ad relevancy. It's not bad now, but improvements could give them such massive gains I'm sure they work at it constantly.
In other areas, I see web apps becoming huge, especially continuity between them. Google already has this to some extent, with mail, calendar and talk all integrated, but I think this will be their next huge growth area.

Yeah stick with the bread and butter!
I often think the are truly moving toward more online apps for business. I think more and more business online requires peopl to use those applications for either a paperless office or because their business is onlie so it would be just as easy to carry their tools online to operate various online activities.

There's some news on what Google is looking at for the future here ... http://news.yahoo.com/s/nf/20071214/...cruNwTiv5k24cA

This sounds like a good idea for them, as much of their traffic is driven away to Wikipedia, whereas it would work a lot better for them if they could keep all that traffic on their own site where they can pick up more advertising revenue.

I heard they were also developing software for a new "smart phone"... maybe to rival Apple's iPhone?

Google will continue to rule the World Wide Web no matter which Internet domain it takes a plunge in.

Now when it has entered into selling domain names, I think there will be a big turmoil in the industry and the honchos would have to pull up their socks to compete with Google.

I think now when Microsoft and Yahoo want to overcome Google, it will develop something new and unpredictable: something that we can't even imagine today.
