Free WordPress theme: Aqua Vaccinium

I've released a WordPress theme for free download so I thought I'd share it first here at the Developers Tutorials.

I've called the theme “Aqua Vaccinium”. The name is derived from the genus of the Blueberry as I'm planning to use a bunch of them to bake myself a pie shortly. Vaccinium sounded too much like some sort of shot you get when you go to some diseased country. So I added the word Aqua on the front coz that's the colour you would get if you took theme and stuck it in a blender.

The theme includes a few atypical features, including a Suckerfish Dropdown menu and Recent Comments and Recent Posts in the sidebar - without plugins.

Hopefully someone will find a use for the theme

Very nice Ryan! Have you submitted it to WPs theme directory?

They had a bunch of problems with spam in themes, so they locked the themes directory They're apparently working on a new system though which should alleviate the spam issues. Once that's done I'll be able to upload my theme.

I've posted in the WordPress forum. There's a board there which you are allowed to post your theme in, but I can't imagine many people will find it in there.


The Blueberry pie didn't turn out so well. The berry's were too juicy and frothed out of the pastry as it was cooking The froth made the pastry too soft and it disintegrated as I tried to remove it from the tray. Oh well, hopefully the pie I make for the next theme will come out better.
