New forum software? TalkPress?

Matt Mullenweg at Automattic has announced that a new forum service is to be launched called TalkPress. I can't tell from the news that I've been reading about it whether it is a replacement for bbPress or will run in tandem with it.

It also seems that they're talking about creating a hosted version of it, much like WordPress.com for WordPress blogs.

Does this mean that TalkPress will be a fork of phpBB3? And that the hosted forum service they will be offering is based on that?
