XBox 360 vs Playstation 3

Ok its that time of year when I pick up some gadget or tech item that I resisted throughout the year and this year it will be a gaming console. My PS2 is growing grey hairs now so its time to upgrade. My dilemma is should I go with the Xbox 360 or PS3.

If any of you have already made this choice or have views on either side please do share.

XBOX for me, but that's because I like the first XBOX over the Playstation 2 at the time. I've enjoyed XBOX--of course as with most systems they don't have all the games you want or some games are on other systems. Overall XBOX has really done better than SEGA or the Dreamcast when they went into the gaming market.

Maybe they just need a multiple gaming system!

After discussing with my peers heres my scenario:

The Playstation 3 has a blueray player but hardly anyone I know has one.
I know a bunch of people that have the Xbox 360 but overall im a PS fan.

I say go for PS3, if for no other reason than that Microsoft doesn't deserve anymore of your business because of the abomination they call a web browser!

Not played the PS3 but I love the 360 - get yourself project gotham racing and watch your hours drain away - at least it helps soften the blow of losing to my housemate at halo 3 by 27 points in a first to 25 battle!! (don't ask!!)
