Mac developer Ecamm has posted a sneak peak of iPhoneCam, an application that uses your iPhone's camera as a wireless Mac webcam. You can stream video from your iPhone over its WiFi to any Mac video application, including iChat, Photo Booth, or Skype. http://www.tuaw.com/2008/01/13/use-y...ne-as-a-webam/
Lol, that's a really expensive webcam. I can't ever see me getting an iPhone or anything like it. The lack of a keypad would drive me batty. Text messaging without being able to feel the keys would be a nightmare!
I think quite a few modern phones are capable of this - when I plug my Sony K800i into the computer it has a menu on the phone screen of "Use as Webcam" or "Use as storage" or something along those lines. I've not experimented with it much to be honest - don't want even more people seeing my ugly mush! - but I'm sure the included software would do the job. Unfortunately being a linux convert the software on the disk is unlikely to be much use!
I think using Iphone as a webcam is not a good idea. Too expensive webcam if you use Iphone as your webcam in computer. But not only Iphone is capable with this. All new mobile phone with USB cable is supported with this.
