Default Can you ever delete all old files on your computer?

I was wondering..can someone ever succeeding in deleting all their files from a computer before trashing it or sending it to ebay.

I was told that if one decides to sell one's computer..it is recommended one cleans the hard drive.

How do you this and can it be done?

Hi,
You need to format the hard drive if you want to remove all information from it. If you don't have a hard spare drive/computer to do it with, you could use an OS on a CD and format from that. Many linux distributions including the popular Ubuntu distro will boot from a CD.

Yes, that's true, one can easily format the computer. Like if it has a virus that can't be cleaned, Reformat it.
