What can I do to make this header POP?

I am working on a header for a site I am doing. I like the direction I am going with the header but it still looks way too plain. Any suggestions on background or mainly what I can do with the text? It just looks so flat.

I like the concept. But I'm not sure what the person with crossbow is representing. It looks sort of like they're camouflaged but I'm not certain. The critical feature in any design is know exactly what the banner represents, but from your banner I'm not sure if you are selling crossbows, discussing crossbows or something else.

The design is good, I think the general concept needs to be clearer. Perhaps let us know exactly what the site is about and we may be able to give some more helpful advice.
