Default A little help with my code

Hi there,

I'm just an amatuer testing out a few things, but one of my little projects doesn't work very well in IE7.

The test URL is http://blackbox.chrislaing.net/ypdltest/

I'd appreciate any guidance.

Thanks in advance,

Chris.

Hi Chris,
And welcome to the forum!

It looks like your site isn't working in more than just IE7. IE6 is messed up too and I assume IE5 and 5.5 will probably be worse.

I'll take a look and be back in a few minutes with some tips.

I had some trouble understanding your code. So here's a quick mockup of an alternative way of laying out your page

I think part of your problem is related to the use of relative positioning which tends to goof in IE in some situations.

Default Wow

Awesome!

Thanks so much Ryan!

I've edited my code so it looks a lot more like yours, and it works great.

Thanks also for the really quick response

Cheers,
Chris

Something major which I forgot to mention, is that you need to add a Doctype to the top of your HTML. Without a Doctype you will be putting some browsers into quirks mode which will make creating cross browser designs quite difficult.
