Lightbulb Free website translation – thoughts please??

Hi

I’ve come across a tool to add to sites I do that translates everything free (Translation Services Company - Language Translation Agency), only downside is a link back to the providing site – that I can see of anyway?? Anybody used it or know how good it is??

Welcome to the forum Bobcally

Nope, I've never seen that before. I'll go look now and report back on my findings.

That looks quite good actually. I could see this being useful for people who don't want to provide multiple language versions of their site.

I don't think I would have any use for it myself though. Providing a site in English usually covers the majority of the web and those who can't read English presumably are quite adept at using translation tools since much (most?) of the web is in English.

People likes when they are translating into their own language. So it will make to stay bit longer on our site.

I've had to visit a bunch of spanish sites recently and was pleasantly surprised at how good the translators for it are. Although according to a spanish workmate of mine, the reverse translation is normally appalling.

I personally am not a fan of their translator. The server is often slow (many online translators are). Instead, I prefer ConveyThis.com - Free Website Translation Toolbar and Button. It doesn't suffer from slow down because it basically combines all online translators into one tool. Also, it tracks translation statistics for your website so you can see which languages your pages are translated the most. All of this is combined into one small button. I really like it a lot.
