Opera web standard curriculum

Opera has launched a new 'Web standards Curriculum'. Have any of you tried using it to learn web standards?

It seems like a good idea to me, but I can't see many people going to the hassle of learning it via an online tutorial service like this. I've always found this type of skill easier to learn by practice and from learning via web design forums such as here on Developer Tutorials.
