Smile Hello!

Hi all,

My name is Carl Gundel, and I'm a relative newcomer to web development.

So what I do for a living is programming languages. I've been selling my Liberty BASIC software on the Internet for a long time, and it's been going pretty well. For a long time it's been a Win32 programming tool, and recently we released a version of it specially for the web called Run BASIC which is a special webserver that you can script in an easy BASIC dialect.

Even though I have produced a web programming system, I'm really not a hard core web programmer. Our software is built on an open source framework called Seaside (http://www.seaside.st) which does a lot of the webbish heavy lifting. Seaside enabled us to build a web system in a very non-web way and in fact it really inspired us to create Run BASIC as a sort of strange step-sibling. I highly recommend it.

Welcome to the forum John.

I've been learning some VERY basic PHP lately as an introduction to programming. It's hard work figuring out the absolute basics though and perhaps your tool would be more useful to beginners than a more serious language like PHP.

Thanks. That's what we're hoping. There is a need for an easy to use web dev platform.
