Default Kontera vs Intellitxt (vibrant media)

In the neverending journey to increase revenue for websites two contextual advertising companies have risen. This is nothing new but the continual question keeps coming up. Which service will bring a website more revenue, Kontera or Intellitxt?

Please share your experiences with either/both.

D.

Well if you notice on these forums for example you will see some links that are double underlined. That is an example of a contextual link which both kontera and intellitxt offer. I have used both kontera and intellitxt and still do and find in some areas that they are comparable and in others intellitxt seems to dominate on cpc.

I have no opinion on which is better. But I'd love to see some statistics on whether these types of advertisements annoy users or not. Personally I find them moderately intrusive, but they don't bother me too much. But I'm a bit wary of really annoying my visitors. I've used the occasional Google Adsense, but I'm quite particular about not placing them anywere to 'in yer face'. You can't really avoid these contextual links so I wonder if it may prevent some visitors from returning.

I've been looking around the forum, but I can't see any of these contextual ads anywhere. Is it possible that they are IP sniffing and not bothering to display them for some countries? I'm in New Zealand at the moment.

Default Intext ads

Hi,
I started with Vibrant in November right at the beginning and had a great November. December was great till before Christmas. My stats just dropped big time. I was making an average of 20-30 bucks a day now down to nothing! The hooks went down 90% and so did the clicks.. the clicks went from 120-200 clicks a day to 8 - 20. I was told by Vibrant that 90% of my clicks came from MSN and they have a massive cutback 90% till April 1st.

It's annoying and disgusting. Vibrantmedia seems to be the biggest out here so if they are having this problem. I don't know if it's better elsewhere. Any knows?

Perhaps it's very seasonal for Vibrant because I looked up (google search) Vibrant hooks dropped and see issues over the past years too.

I wish someone would tell me that elsewhere intext pays well.

Tx,
Cyperpal

Interesting to hear you aren't having much luck cyperpal. I have recently started using Konterra, but haven't had any clicks yet. It seems to be picking up some odd keywords on my page which don't have much relevance to my content which I think is causing problems for me. I also don't have much traffic on the site yet either which doesn't help.

I haven't looked into it much beyond installing and seeing how it worked. Perhaps there's a control panel for choosing keywords or something, or at least I hope there is as otherwise I think I'll have to get rid of it as I don't see it making me any money otherwise.
