Default Content Management System

I seem to be the only poster today but i have a lot to learn so here goes. Ive been learning that a content management system is a good way to go if you feel your website is going to grow a lot or even just for easy managment. I have read in a few places that some of these both pay and free may have security issues since people are familiar with their code and know its weak spots. Which cms do you use and whats your reason for choosing it?

Im not sure how secure it is but mambo seems to be a popular options for open source content management systems. It may require some customization to get it running the way you want but thats my suggestion, coding it yourself has some good benefits as well if you are ready to take that leap.

You can get some practical tutorial lessons from the Mambo book from Packt Publishing. You can visit the site by going to www.packtpub.com

Default Would you consider blog tools content management?

Here's a question that I always wondered about. Would you consider blog tools such as Blogger or Moveable Type content management tools? With these tools, you can post content, allow visitor interaction, and place online profiles.

Just wondering...

I wouldn't recommend Blogger because AFAIK you are stuck into the Blogger system permanently then. Whereas with Moveable Type it is hosted on your own system so you can switch to another system at a later date if you wish, plus it is more flexible.

Personally I use WordPress for CMS purposes. WordPress has a lot more support/users than Moveable Type so it tends to be a lot easier to get help when you get stuck.
