Default Firefox 3

Rumour has it that Firefox3 will be released shortly.

Have any of you ben using the release candidates or betas?

I tried out the alpha version a LONG time ago, then I upgraded to a beta not long ago. There were a few niggling bugs, such as my back button dissappearing randomly, but I haven't tried the latest release candidate which I hope fixes that problem.

The CSS support has improved markedly, there is very little difference between the CSS rendering of Firefox3.0 and the most standards friendly browsers Opera and Safari.

I also notice that it doesn't crash as much due to excessive RAM usage. Although the beta version didn't support many plugins, so this may become a problem again if lots of plugins are installed - but I'm not sure.

All in all, a nice upgrade for the worlds most popular web browser.

So Firefox 3.0 has now been released.

Have any of you had any bad experiences with it?

I'm quite enjoying it. I didn't like the new address bar system, but I've grown accustomed to it now and find it very useful with the way it predicts what I'm looking for.

I am having issues with RSS feeds though. For some reason I can't access them via the button in the address bar. It prepends http:// to the feed and hence triggers a 404 error.

Yah ... when ever it is about to be released, the plain old problem with firefox will still be existing..

i.e Session Expired.. when ever the user is idle for 3 minutes it expires the session, even though if we are on a Web-service or any E-commerce website performing major operations.

This is a major drawback with Firefox.. I had written many times of this but the bug has not been fixed yet..

I havent use the beta release but guys if any one has seen this problem been solved that please.. please.. do reply..

wahed

It already has been released. I don't know if the bug you speak of has been fixed though.
