Sorry, I'm not sure what you asking.

Are you asking if Email marketing is a good way to promote your site?

If so, then possibly. I plan to mail bomb some members of a site I developed in a few months time. I've been collecting their addresses when they leave comments and I intend to integrate a forum into the site at some stage and as a way of getting more visitors to the forum I hope some of those visitors leaving comments on my articles will become involved with the forum side of the site too. I plan to be quite careful about how I word the email though as I'm loathe to be seen as a spammer. There's nothing worse than signing up to something and then getting inundate by some moronic web admin who thinks it's a good idea to mail bomb you every second day with a report on whatever dribble they're posting on their site.

Getting email addresses in the first place is always going to be the crucial stumbling block in email marketing. Purchasing Email lists is normally illegal as most of them are just spam lists and collecting email addresses yourself can be quite tricky as you need to provide people with a reason to leave their address with you.

If your site is general enough then you could have some luck generating traffic from mail bombing everyone in your personal address book, but you've got to hope they don't mind you spamming them!

Has anyone had any personal experience with Email marketing?
