Exclamation Search Engine of Choice

Whenever I need information, I either go to Yahoo or to Google. Specially with the Google toolbar neatly installed and accessible, it becomes quicker to search for anything. Search results are often satisfactory and if I don't find it in Google, I go to Yahoo, or vice versa. My friend introduced me to AskJeeves (it has been renamed, I think), which I rarely use. As for MSN, I don't really use it, unless I just logged out of my hotmail account and the homepage gets back to MSN.

I pretty much exclusively use Google. The only time I'd switch is if I know the site I'm looking for, can't remember the name, and can't find it on the big G. Then I'd go Yahoo, then MSN, then Ask (that's the rebrand of AskJeeves). Google is in my mind undoubtedly the best search engine, and although you're bound to find a few disgruntled webmasters moaning about "rubbish results", these are generally just people who don't like the fact that they are crap at SEO!
Proof that Google is the best is entirely with its market share. They entered the market and gained their massive share by being the best, simple as. They showed that the best engine will become the most popular, and that newcomers can overturn the old heads - I mean where's AltaVista and others now?! There's no reason why another SE couldn't turn this around and displace Google, the reason none of them do is that they simply aren't as good.
Having said that, when I'm doing SEO, although my efforts are primarily focussed towards Google, I will still check ranks in MSN and Yahoo (probably not in Ask), and if I can do things that will make them happy, without affecting Google then even better. I've found it pretty easy to get ranked in MSN, even for reasonably competitive keywords. They seem to place a lot less relevance on links, and more on content - perhaps why their results aren't up to much!
In case you wanted the short answer rather than an essay, then Google.

It entirely depends on what I'm looking for. I Google, Creative Commons, EBay, Wikipedia, FlickR, IMDB and Youtube in my Firefox searchbox.

If I'm searching for videos then I generally use YouTube, if I'm searching for stuff to buy then EBay is my first stop, for freebie images for web use I generally use Creative Commons and for photos (not necessarily free) I use FlickR.

If I'm just trying to find a useful piece of information my first stop is either Google or Wikipedia, but it depends on the topic. If it's something findable on Wikipedia then I'll go there straight away as the information is often more reliable.

I rarely use Yahoo!, Altavista, Ask, MSN or anything else. In fact I actively avoid MSN as I find their annoying habit of adding their search engines to default Windows Installs annoying.

Arrow Search Both Search Engine

Hi…..
Searchboth is the first site to place google and yahoo side by side on one split screen. The web site takes the user's query and creates a browser window with two frames, with the results from Yahoo! on one side and those from google on the other. It has completely end up the hassles involved while searching different search engines at the same time.

SearchBoth

I think there's a Firefox plugin which can do that too.
