Google Becomes More Localized

Hi folks,

As per latest news, Google is now showing more local results for broad and common queries. That means users are no more required to have a location in the search query for local-like keywords. It will show you the results in the local box at the top

Google confirms this change as:

"In most cases, we match your IP address to a broad geographical location. You can also specify your likely location using the "Change location" link on the top right corner, above the map."

I think this would only happen when you sign in your gmail accounts but not a general issue, IMO.

Hi,

I think your logged in / logged out status in Gmail does not effect the localization feature of Google serps.

I think it applies based on IP address?
