Default Forum Links?

Forum links generally pass very little value from the forum to your web site. They are quantity not quality. So i was thinking today why don't we try and harvest some quality links out of a forum. You may ask how do we do this? we start a thread for everyone one intersted we all make one post in the thread. WE add a perma link to that thread in our signatures passing value to the thread and creating a higher quality link to our web sites. What do you guys think of this idea?

Yeah your right what you say... Quality over quantity works. But I do both... I try and find high PR forums and blogs and post in them. Everyone has their own strategy really so it's what you feel comfortable with.

Give it a go! I tried this with one of my previous websites and I got PR2 on the first update with only 100 inlinks. The thing is though, PR alone will not get you to the top of Google. It's a mixture of everything:

Inbound links
Outbound links
CSS
HTML

They all need to be considered when performing SEO.

Right, backlinks from forum signature area are still nice for ranking purpose.

Well, I do not think it is a good idea. If you want quality back links, you can try to change links with some good sites, or submit the site to good directory site.
