How do I know if my website is optimized? I recently did a major update and I also updated my sitemaps and also updated my meta tags and notified google as well as inserted the links to my sitemaps in the webmaster center on google. They say there are no problems with my website but haven't crawled in a month! Whats next? thegotoguy
Hi,
There is no way to 'know' if your site is optomised for search engines as no one knows the algorithms for all of them. The best you can do it take an educated guess. There is no automated way to determine it either as it is impossible for a machine to know whether you have marked up your content in a semantic way. That is a job for a human to do.
Your has some coding errors which may throw off the search engines. In particular, you have some incorrectly opened and closed tags and some with incorrect syntax.
You are using paragraphs when you should probably be using lists.
You have some old school tag soup, such as CENTER tags.
One of your DIVs is outside of the HTML area.
You have reasonable use of headings, although I generally recommend avoiding the use of H1 tags.
You have some empty paragraphs.
All of the above will negatively affect the SEO of your site and should be avoided.
