site blocker ?

hi everyone,
i wanna talk if anyone knows about the site blocker as in our university we are blocked to use the site "orkut"
as everytime i try to open the site its been said that " you are not permitted to check this site "
i mean theres nothing wrong on this site this is just a friendly site,and i am looking for the coding of blocking a website on a pc as well as i am looking for the decoding of this coding also.
is there anyone who knows about it ?

I don't know exactly how your uni blocks it, but it's probably on the server/router level. When you try and access the site their server redirects the request to a "site blocked" style page. There's not a lot you can do about it except see if you can access it through a proxy.
As for doing it on your own PC, if you have a firewall running there's probably an option to block certain sites, or possibly theres other ways to do it depending on your OS.
