text based slide show

i want to create a text based slide show using asp.net with vb.
i want it to have a series of slides where i can explain different things in each 'slide'. also i would like a sequence of text to appear one after the other in each slide. does anyone know how i can do this, i am making my application using visual web developer 2008 express edition. i have looked it up on the internet but what i find doesnt seem to make sense to me.
i hope i have posted this up in the right place as i think it may include javascript aswell

I think the solution is going to be almost entirely Javascript based to be honest - your first aim should be to create some static pages that have the slideshow effects you want, using JS. Then it's simple to use ASP or any other server side language to fill the page with whatever information is needed.

yeah your right, i have created a series of diffrent pages and the user can click them to view the next. in each page i have done it some that the text appears at different times using javascript. however, for each time a new line of text appears in the sequence i want the image to change. so i have text and an image chaging at the same time, do you know how i can add the images in aswell. the following is the script i have, thanks .
