Matt Mullenweg, the creator of WordPress, has now shifted his blog http://photomatt.net/ over to a new domain name.

The domain name is ....

ma.tt

That's it. A simple four letter domain

The TT is from Trinidad and Tobago. The cost for a domain for there is US$1000 for two years! But considering that it is only a four letter domain, that seems pretty reasonable to me.

Matt was fortunate to get that domain name. Many top-level country domain names don't allow you to get a one- or two-letter domain (not counting the TLD).

Interesting. I assumed you could whatever domain you wanted, just that the small ones were gone already.

Yes, apparently some governments like to save the choicest domain names for themselves, for possible future use.
