Default My Current Web Host

Im currently being hosted on a Linux server for $8.95/month but have seen a few sites that offer free hosting that seems to be on the up and up. Are there hidden agendas to these free hosting sites that I should beware of? Im not sure I will switch but wondering if the thought is even worth it.

Avoid free hosting if you want to be professional and if you want to get quicker response in case of any issue.Instead, you can go with cheap and reliable hosts. There are hosts like indyahozting.com and many more, provides decent services. Its easy to find them through search engines.

You are absolutely correct. It's better to avoid free hosting if the intention is business with the site.

If you go with a free hosting service, don't be astonished if it suddenly disappears, without warning, and takes all of your files with it. It's just not worth the hassle.

I tried freehostia.com once. My site was active for exactly one year, then the emailed to asking me to click a link to continue my service, but I didn't coz I already had paid hosting by then. But it was good service while I was using it, albeit slower than my Hostgator.com account and more prone to going down - expected for something you aren't paying for.
