I don't care for the polka dot template but as I use blogger myself I know your choices are somewhat limited though you can find other sites that offer more than Google does. You might consider putting a favicon and hiding the nav bar as it looks more professional. You can see how I did mine at
Blog for free. If you go into the blogger helps and find their forum you will find codes you can copy and paste into your html. Also there is a code to have your anchor text open in a new tab so your visitors don't have to use the back button to return or even worse get away.
